Salvation Army visitor - Charity at Christmastime
On Wednesday 15th December we had a visit from Captain Smith, one of the Church leaders at the Salvation Army in Tunbridge Wells. She came and discussed with us the history of the Salvation Army and highlighted some of the services they provide in Tunbridge Wells. She brought it many items they remind us of the Salvation Army, including a brass trumpet (used at Christmas time), a toy tiger (used when play groups occur at the church) and even a Salvation Arm cup (used for accident and disaster relief for emergency services). We then finished the session by asking Captain Smith prepared questions we had about the Salvation Army and how they help as a charity at Christmas time.
