The Three Voices
‘Three voices speak in the deep darkness by the giant roots of Yggdrasil, great tree of worlds, its colossal bulk rising high into the sky above.’
In an English lesson, the children worked in groups to prepare and perform a poem linked to the Norse Creation Myth. Three children took the parts of the ‘three sisters’ who hold the threads of human lives, and the fourth child was the narrator.
The poem was performed with enthusiasm and a great sense of foreboding.
